Charles Richards

Charlie received a BA in English from Davidson College in 1970, and a JD from Emory Law School in 1975. He retired from the Georgia Attorney General's Office in 2013 after 24 years of service in various capacities, first in civil litigation, and later as a prosecutor and Director of the Georgia Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Charlie has a lifelong interest in the history and historiography of the American Civil War, and particularly in the ways in which the supposedly defeated former Confederates have been allowed to reshape our national memory of the causes and consequences of that terrible conflict.
