Perry Mitchell

An Atlanta native, Perry earned his BA in English from Duke University, followed by an MA in Literature at the University of Iowa. He spent 40 years in advertising as a writer/creative director/ad agency partner. Now retired, Perry is involved in a number of diverse nonprofits, including Druid Hills Civic Association, Emory Village Alliance, Literacy Action (adult literacy tutor and classroom teacher), and Compassion&Choices, the nation’s largest nonprofit dealing exclusively with advance care planning and end-of-life issues. Perry has been the GA Chapter President for two years, and has given an hour-long presentation to many civic and church groups, encouraging nearly 400 people to enact Advance Directives.
