Dr. Robert Harvey Spector

Robert served on Faculty of the University of California, San Diego during his navy service from 1976-1978, and was recruited by Emory in 1978 to develop a new subspecialty referral service called Neuro-Ophthalmology. He remained at Emory for 9 years and was part of a top notch Department of Ophthalmology until it imploded in 1986, when he moved to a private practice. Robert chaired Northside Hospital’s Education and Research Committee for many years and retired in May 2014. Robert attended and received degrees from Franklin and Marshall College, George Washington University Medical School, University of Pennsylvania Internal Medicine, Jackson Memorial Neurology Residency and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology.
