Biography

Gene Vickery

Trammell is a native son of Atlanta who is interested in the research of international, political and cultural issues. He was born at Emory University, where his father attended and taught as an Adjunct Professor of the Law School. Trammell received his education at the University of Georgia and Kennesaw State University. His interest in international and Asian studies developed from the study and teaching of Judo as an instructor of the West Georgia and Univ. of Georgia Judo Clubs. His graduate school study in Conflict Management included an Internship in The Conflict Resolution Program of The Carter Center and a field research study of the conflict in the island nation of Fiji. His current research concerns cross-cultural negotiations for conflict resolution and how engaged dialogue may contribute to reconciliation and transformation of cultures in conflict.
