Vicki Flier Hudson


Vicki Flier Hudson is the Chief Collaboration Officer of Highroad Global Services, Inc. a company that offers cross-cultural training and coaching for global virtual teams, expatriates, and leaders across borders. Vicki has helped countless mid to large-sized corporations develop high-performing global teams, delivering interactive webinars that build collaboration. She is a recipient of Kennesaw State University's Instructor of the Year Award for International Programs, and author of the book Zen and the Art of Offshoring: How to Build a Collaborative and Profitable Team with Your Partners in India. Vicki is an expert public presenter and speaks regularly for international organizations. Her topics of address have included doing successful business in India, cross-cultural competency, global leadership, and more. Vicki taught global business skills as a part-time faculty member at Emory University, Kennesaw State, and the University of Georgia. She developed her own online course for the Georgia Board of Regents on cross-cultural healthcare management. She has brought cross-cultural programs to organizations such as Procter & Gamble, The Home Depot, General Mills, UPS, Cisco, Emory School of Medicine, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Centers for Disease Control, and more. Vicki has been featured as a cross-cultural expert on NBC's 11 Alive News during the Beijing Olympics. Vicki is a certified DISC practitioner. She is also a certified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), a certified facilitator of the Cultural Detective methodology and a trained coach through CTI (Coaches Training Institute). Previously, in Atlanta, Georgia Vicki supervised and conducted training for international and domestic Customer Support, Distribution and Manufacturing for Immucor, Inc., a worldwide blood bank automation company with affiliates throughout Europe. She designed procedural and quality training programs for employees and managers, and ensured compliance with all US and international regulations. She conducted needs assessments for Immucor Europe and assisted staff in adapting to centralized data systems. Vicki has also coached executives from varied cultures with excellent results. Vicki designed and co-facilitated training programs for Immucor Germany's conversion to enterprise software and workflow. She performed the training for the mixed-culture team several times in Germany, and led the affiliate through a successful transition. She authored training manuals and curricula used for international Customer Service training and provided software instruction in the US for executives from the European Union. In addition, she worked on several multicultural software implementation teams which included team members from India, Ireland, Czech Republic and Canada. Vicki has lived and/or worked in Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Nepal and Thailand. She has traveled in several countries including Austria, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, and Singapore. She developed and facilitated a conversational English language program for the medical staff at the government hospital of Bangkok, Thailand, and served as a volunteer at their affiliated low-income clinic. She taught creative writing and English grammar for one year at a private school in Pokhara, Nepal, and cared for clinic patients in India. She also developed a knack for riding camels across the Thar Desert and enduring Indian train rides exceeding fifty-five hours at a time. Vicki has spent time in numerous regions of India including Rajasthan, West Bengal, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, Vicki holds an honors degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She speaks English, her native language, and attended a Spanish immersion school for six years as a youth. She has also studied Thai, Hindi, Nepali and French. She is an active member of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR), Japan-America Society of Georgia, and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), and served on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves on the Board for the TAG's International Business Society. In her spare time she plays electric guitar and sings in two rock bands, Overtime Crew and The Spirit of Rush. She also enjoys traveling with her husband.
