Judge Ural D. Glanville is a 1987 graduate of the UGA School of Law. After completing his J.D., he served on active military duty for several years, returning to Atlanta in 1993. He served as a prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, and civil litigator prior to beginning his judicial service, in 1996, as a Magistrate Judge in Fulton County State Court. In 2004, after eight years behind the magistrate bench, Judge Glanville was elected to serve as a Superior Court Judge in Fulton County. In his thirteen years on the Superior Court bench, Judge Glanville has presided over a wide array of matters ranging from felony offenses to negligence claims to bond validations. Recently, Judge Glanville transitioned to the Family Division and now presides over a range of family law issues. All the while, Judge Glanville has continued to pursue his military career with the Army Reserves that began during his undergraduate years at UGA. Now in his 33rd year of military service, Judge Glanville is a Brigadier General, and his current assignment is as The Assistant Judge Advocate General for Military Law and Operations (Individual Mobilization Augmentee). Married for 28 years to Lisa B. Glanville, the couple has two adult children.
