Billy Newman is a professional fine art photographer with 17 years of experience as a professional photographer and over 16 years of experience in photographic printing and digital processing. His life has been consumed with photography ever since he picked up a Kodak Instamatic Camera and made his first photograph. He graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography with a major in Color Technology, and has taught at The Showcase School and Portfolio Center. His recent photographic work adorns the walls of hotels, hospitals, and office buildings throughout the US and can even be found in Hawaii, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. He has exhibited his work throughout the Southeast and his photographs are held in numerous private and corporate collections. From his very first photographs of the Chattahoochee, taken as a young teen, to his newest abstract images of ice, Newman has photographed various subjects: intimate weddings, corporate meetings, events for publications, but mostly he has aimed his lens at nature. Through forests, meadows, water and ice, he finds mysterious images that our mundane daily visions overlook. In his picture taking, he studies and practices how the creative process works in photography, and through his daily professional workflow, he embraces Lightroom, Photoshop, color management, and all the technology that enhances photography.
