Project Management Professional (PMP) Exam Preparation


This intensive 5 day course was designed for experienced project managers to prepare for the PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam. Instruction on the PMBOK®, Fifth Edition Knowledge Areas and Process Groups; individual and team exercises along with practice tests will provide the foundation to prepare you to pass the PMP® Exam. The pre-requisite 35 Contact Hours needed for the PMP application will be achieved upon successful completion of this course.
It is expected that students will master the foundational knowledge and then be able to apply it to class exercises. Upon completion of the course students will develop an individual study plan and preparation strategy with the assistance of the instructor. Students will also be provided with test planning worksheets to improve their study experience.

  • Recommendations:

    • Plan to take the PMP® exam within 90 days of the test preparation
    • Upon completion of the PMP® Exam Boot Camp spend at least 40 hours of self-directed, independent study after completing the test preparation course
    • Apply preparation strategies to review concepts and perform targeted study
    • Utilize study aids provided in class to gain confidence in the material
    • Take advantage of the online practice test questions included in the course

    Upon completion of this course students will be able to:

    • Understand the PMP® exam components and their distribution on the exam
    • Develop  an individual study plan and preparation strategy for the exam with the assistance of the instructor
    • Understand the differences and relationships between Projects, Programs and Portfolios
    • Understand and describe Organizational Influences and the different Project Lifecycles methodologies
    • Understand and describe project management and processes utilized
    • Understand and apply the Terms and Definitions from the PMBOK®, Fifth Edition
    • Describe the 10 Knowledge Areas and the five Process Groups
    • Describe  the common Inputs, Tools and Techniques and Outputs of each of the Process Groups
    • Understand and apply formulas commonly used on the PMP® Exam
    • Understand how project management processes align with Process Groups and Knowledge Areas
    • Demonstrate comprehension of the above by taking online practice exams and answering questions successfully
