Graphic Design Capstone

Upcoming offerings of the Graphic Design Capstone, the final class in the Advanced Graphic Design certificate program.

Graphic Design Capstone

Students who complete the prerequisites for this course are on the path to achieve the goal of every graphic designer: a compelling professional portfolio to share with employers and clients.

Our cumulative Capstone course positions students to create a stunning collection of print and digital collateral. Students will utilize advanced techniques to apply the graphic design rules they have previously learned and—if necessary—justify decisions to break those same rules.

Students will also follow the design process and use hardware/software tools to create compositions for peer feedback and revision. Aside from developing original work, participants will also analyze major brands’ design campaigns to inspire their creative visions.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:
  • Critique, edit and refine their own and others’ work at a professional level
  • Document and articulate decisions at each stage of the creative process
  • Employ advanced design skills and techniques to solve complex problems
  • Create a personal identity system
