Introduction to Elementary Modern Persian II
This course will address all four language skills—speaking, reading, listening and writing—with emphasis on speaking and listening. The course is a continuation of Introduction to Elementary Modern Persian I. Students will be introduced to grammatical structures of Modern Standard Persian and, by the end of the course, should be able to un¬derstand and communicate basic information in a variety of contexts. This course is for beginners with little experience in the language.

The forces of globalization in combination with an increasingly diverse US workforce make even more significant our understanding of the Arab world. This course will explore history, demographics, terminology and diversity within the economically powerful Arab world. Participants will learn about differences in communication styles and their impact on doing business in that part of the world. Participants will also gain understanding of cultural do’s and don’ts and how to work around them. Students will also be exposed to some key Arabic words. This course is intended for organizations doing business in the Arab world, have employees from Arabic background and those who just want to learn about the Arabic culture.
