Film Appreciation
Love movies? Gain a greater appreciation of this art form by learning to analyze a film’s meaning as expressed through the images appearing on screen, and understanding the basics of how a film is constructed (shots, angles, lighting, sound, color, etc.). After watching suggested films at home, class discussions will focus on the director’s strategy, choices made behind the camera, the history of filmmaking, film theory, and issues such as gender, race, and ethnicity. If movies are your passion you can't afford to miss these five nights of film clips and lively debate!
