Stepping Up to Management Certificate Bootcamp

This program is targeted at employees who are perceived by the management team to have the potential knowledge, skills and abilities to assume a formal leadership role in the organization. Their management readiness ranges from “ready now” to “ready in 1-2 years.” The high potential employee has been recognized for quality work in his/her current role and meets performance goals in a timely manner. This employee is usually perceived as fitting in well with the organizational culture; has expressed interest in taking on a larger role and is viewed as worth the risk of investing additional organizational resources to prepare him/her for expanded responsibilities and accountabilities. High potential employees form the organization’s bench strength for the future and they clearly warrant additional investment to realize their value to the organization. Recognizing high potential employees and proactively developing them for roles of increased responsibility makes good sense when one takes a holistic view of the organization.

After this class, you will be able to:
  • Establish a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a manager
  • Identify the critical management activities and necessary skills to acquire
  • Develop communication skills and enhance interpersonal relationships in the workplace
  • Gain insight into handling typical demanding management situations
  • Create a personal career transition plan
  • Focus on developing the skills necessary to successfully manage people, projects and resources
